I love having fresh flowers in my home. They such a lovely touch to any space. I purchase a couple of inexpensive bunches and then place them in various spots through out my home. The kitchen, living room and bathroom are standard locations for me. LOVE the idea of placing some in my office! If you are not a "flower purchaser" think about starting. Especially this time of year. It's the hope of spring!
Do you office from home? Is it difficult to "leave work"? I have had several client struggle with this concept. If this is a problem for you, you have come to the right place! Here is the solution. It is simple and perhaps a little silly, but it works!! Go to the dollar store Purchase a Open/Closed sign Hang it on your office door When you are done working close the doors and place the CLOSED sign on your door. It is a visual for you so every time you are tempted to go back i
"Oh, you home looks like it came out of a catalog!" Is that a compliment? Do you want your home to look like a catalog? Here's the truth as I see it, yes it is a compliment! What they are saying is that it is beautiful, lovely, well put together. I don't think they are saying "yikes did you just order page 57?" They are saying "Nice Job"! Never underestimate the power of a beautiful, comfortable bedroom. This is the space where we rest and rejuvenate! Does it speak to you? Not in the "scary voice in the night" speaks to you. In the "Oh I love this! It feels so calming!" What ever gives you that aahhh feeling is perfect, for you!
If you have read my books, you know that I speak a lot about the importance of the front door. This door is clean, fresh and bright. It leaves visitors with a wonderful impression. My personal taste would be a rug with color, however the simplicity of the entry is to be admired.
Whether inside or out plants are such a beautiful addition to any space. Be mindful of what they need sun and water wise. Use lovely containers that bring joy and color to the space. Think outside of the "flowerpot". Be creative!
Some say I have a pillow problem! Well I don't think it's a problem, I think of it more as thrifty, creative... an obsession. I love to change things seasonal and so I have a few pillows. This by no means all of them. If you like to change things up, pillows, throw rugs, curtains and throws are a great, less expensive way to accomplish it. If you have one common color that is in every room, it makes it easier because you can move accessories from room to room as well.
