Oh, my we are almost done with January! If you live in the cold country you may be happy to see it go! When you think winter décor, blankets, throws, fireplaces with chunky mantels and deep, rich colors come to mind. What are your favorite winter décor looks?
After living in Texas for almost 9 months (7 months in our home) I finally made it to Waco! And no I didn't see Chip or Joanna. However I did see David Ridley from Season 3. We just happened to be at the food trucks at the same time.
We are a few weeks into January. How is you plan for 2017? I hope you have taken some time to ponder this. It is important to the success of this year. If you don't know where you are going, how will you know when you get there?
I encourage you to look at your Personal, Family, Health, Spiritual, Work/Business. How can you improve or make changes in these areas?
I looked at each area, one day at a time. It helped with focus. Best of luck as you create the year you want. Let me know how it goes.
So what the heck is Lynn Wilson OrganizeDesign™ you ask?! Well it is my trademark name for organizing with style and design. The use of creative and attractive storage. We all have things that need to be stored but we don't always have to use a canvas box. I have a cute round basket with a lid that holds lots of things I don't want setting out. My mantra is Containerize, containerize, containerize or throw it out!
January is a great time to assess your closet. Is it clean and organized or is it messy and cluttered? Take some time, maybe as you are doing the laundry, to get a handle on the situation. Donate items you do not wear and organize by color or style what you keep. I have all my dress clothes organized by color, solids first then print/pattern, short sleeve then long, then sweaters/jackets. I then do the same with my casual clothes. It makes it SO easy to get dressed in the morning. And when I put my laundry away, boom, super easy!!
There are many different ways to organize a closet. Choose the one that works for you. Happy Organizing!
We've talked about what is "IN" for 2017, but what is "OUT" might be of interest. Here are a few things that we have said goodbye to: Copper accessories, gray paint(too much of a good thing), monochromatic designs, chevron or zig zag print, all white rooms and accent walls.
So here is my question to you, do you care? No, really do you care? And who is telling us what is in? Those that are selling to us. I know, sounds kind of weird for me to say that. This is why I tell my clients to add trendy pieces in accessories that are less expensive to replace. Styles come and go, your tastes will change so use accessories as a way to be current.
